Exciting News at Smarter Managed Buildings.
Since the inception of Smarter in June 2021, we have been developing our culture to assure that we offer innovative solutions, whilst considering the environment, with our ultimate desire to delight our customers.
We believe that the heartbeat and fondation for any successful business is primarily driven by the culture and empowerment within the whole team to deliver for our customers. This is coupled with a desire to create management systems that essentially, are developed to assure ultimate flexability for our customers.
We of course want to record and encapsulate our 'culture' as it develops, within a secondary medium, to help present our story to our team and customers.
Over the last few months, we have been working hard to create and develop our supporting quality and environmental management systems, to help describe our culture and we have immense pleasure to announce that the Smarter Managed Buildings quality and environmental management systems have been assessed, approved and certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 : 2015 standards.

Welcome to Elliot Baxter
We are delighted att Smarter Managed Buildings to introduce Elliot Baxter as our new commissioning engineer.
Elliot has recently joined us following 9 years of working for the Royal Navy and within the wider defence sector.
He brings a wealth of experience in engineering having served as a weapons engineer on His Majesties T45 destroyers all over the globe.
Elliot is extremely keen to learn and progress within the BeMS industry and is excited to be a part of the team here at SMB.
We are focused at SMB to invest and bring 'new engineering blood' into the BMS controls industry and this is the first step towards this goal.
It is also great to support the wider Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and develop a reputation as a Forces-friendly business, in offering Elliot this role to develop his career following his Navy service.

SMB Supports The Salvation Army - New York Staff Band UK Tour -2023
We take great pleasure in supporting our team and the wider community with humility and charity support throughout the year.
Our latest project supported the worldwide organisation of the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is a worldwide church and registered charity in 127 countries offering unconditional friendship, and practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs. Extending a helping hand to those who are homeless, friendless and in need, The Salvation Army passionately believes that no one is beyond hope, however great their problems.
With our Director, Darren Willis, holding a senior position within the army organisation, we chose to support the USA ‘New York Staff Band’, on their UK concert tour this year.
The Tour included concerts in Manchester, Birmingham, Norwich and culminating in the grand final concert within the famous 500 seat Regent Hall on Oxford Street, London.
The concert tour was a sell out and we were delighted for Darren to deliver a video presentation of the support from SMB.

Smarter Managed Buildings Support Coalville Town Football Club as Match Day Sponsor
Since the inception of Smarter Managed Buildings in 2021, we have maintained a vested interest in our local community and wider charity support.
This is part of our planned Corporate Citizenship activities and responsibilities that Smarter Managed Buildings offer where we can, to make a positive contribution to society in general.
Coalville Town have had a fantastic 2022/2023 season in the Southern Football League, securing second place and entry into the promotion playoffs.
After the disruption over the last few years following Covid, it's fantastic to see how the success of the club has drawn the town together. At the last league match of the season, an impressive attendance of 1710 saw Coalville beat Stourbridge by 3 goals to 1.
With such a positive effect on the town and with Smarter Managed Buildings located in the Coalville area, we are proud to support the club as 'Matchday Sponsor' for the upcoming Semi final playoff against Rushall Olympic this Wednesday 26th April at 19:45.

Welcome to the team Max Potter
We have pleasure today in introducing Max Potter to the team at Smarter Managed Buildings.
Max joins Smarter as a Commissioning Engineer, as we develop our team to expand our services and desire to delight our customers.
With 10 years experience in the electrical installation of building management systems, Max had a desire to further his controls knowledge to prepare software and commission BMS systems.
Max brings a wealth of control panel and electrical knowledge and coupled with his own interests in building computers and software development, he fits well into our team at SMB.

Fantastic 2 Days of Product Training and Team Building in London
The Smarter Managed Buildings team have recently benefitted from a fantastic 2 day product and team building experience in London.
We believe in the investment and engagment of the team, to embrace and be early adopters of the latest tech in our industry.
Day 1 saw the SMB team and one customer from the Nottingham Trent University, attend the Smart Builidngs Show, at the London Excel exhibition centre.
We spent the day visiting all of the manufacturer exhibitor stands to investigate the latest tech and services from suppliers.
We also attended the BCIA Young Engineers Network (YEN) BACnet presentation, where Elliot Baxter and Max Potter found the event very informative, especially as they are currently undertaking projects with BACnet interfaces to AC systems.
Day 2 was the highly anticipated Trend Control Systems IQ5 System launch day. This was held at the impressive London Mayfair Hotel.
The new Trend IQ5 system looks very impressive and we are sure will assure the coming years will be exciting and offer us many unique solutions to offer customers, to control and save energy in their buildings.
WIth IQ5 offering the latest in tech including cyber security and a commitment to full backward compatability with earlier IQ product, Trend presented a powerful commitment to sustainability and the environment that we work and live in.

Smarter Managed Buildings Attend Exciting Trend IQ 5 Launch
Smarter Managed Buildings were proud to be invited to attend the highly anticipated Trend IQ5 system launch, at the Mayfair hotel in London.
It was great to see a manufacturer innovating whilst protecting past customer investment, by developing IQ5 with leading integration and cyber security features, whilst protecting past investment by offering backward compatability with earlier product generations, over 40 years of the Trend journey.
We were very grateful for the invitation and hospitality offered to our team.

October has seen our first annual audit of our ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems, standards and guidelines.
We welcome the professionalism and authority of our management partner, Citation ISO Certification, who spent two full days auditing all of our business systems.
Citation assure that our culture and the way we serve our customers at SMB is documented and understood by the team.
We are proud to announce that after two days of full on auditing of all of our systems, we have maintained our ISO9001 / ISO14001 status until the next audit.

Developing our Leadership and Culture @ SMB
To assure the leadership team stay focused and driven towards our team and customer experience, we have been busy over the last few months, with an investment in the 'No Bullsh*t Leadership course.'
This new leadership course, run by AAR marketing, has been created to complement the recent books published by business expert, Chris Hirst.
All of the course modules include experience and presentations from Chris.and the AAR team, including live events with the business expert and author.
It has been an enlightning experience and it was great to realise that many features of our culture at SMB aligned with the business practices and models discussed.
We are proud to announce that Darren Willis and Steve Barham both succesfully completed the 8 module course with accreditation.
